Harvest Demo: Try the Interface Yourself

Screenshots only tell you so much. This is a working recreation of the Harvest web app, loaded with a sample creative studio, so you can click through the screens the way you would on day one — track time, approve a week, run a profitability report, raise an invoice. Nothing is saved and no account is needed, refresh to start over.

Things worth trying

Track time the way Harvest does

Hit the green Track time square, pick a project and task, then either type a duration or leave it blank to start a timer. The running entry turns orange and the timer follows you into the nav bar, so you can stop it from any screen.

Fill a week in the grid

Switch the Day/Week toggle to Week and the same timesheet becomes a grid of project rows against the seven days. Type 1:30 or 1.5 into any cell and the row, day and week totals all recalculate.

Submit a week, then approve it

Submit week for approval moves your sheet into Pending approval. Open it from there to see the whole week entry by entry, approve it, and watch every entry in that week come back locked.

Find out whether the work made money

Reports has Harvest’s real split: Time for hours and billable value, Profitability for revenue against internal cost. Change the period, regroup by client, project, task or person, and filter by project type.

Watch a budget run out

The Projects table shows every budget as a bar. Open a project for its progress curve against the budget line — and note the one whose bar has gone red because it is over.

Turn tracked time into an invoice

New invoice pulls a project’s uninvoiced billable hours in as line items grouped by task, adds billable expenses, and lets you send it, record a part payment, or mark it paid.
